SMA was created by a diverse group of entrepreneurs, technology, business people, and aviators with the combined vision of fostering community among general aviation pilots, and to help make flying more economical, give them access to new and different aircraft, and meet other like-minded individuals.
We utilize the latest technologies to make this website, and service, intuitive, easy to use, and effective. RAJ BHATIA, Founder, Instrument Pilot
Raj is an instrument rated pilot with 700 hours, 400 in a Cirrus SR-22. Raj found and shared his SR-22 with three other pilots in order to cover expenses. The reality was that he not only covered his expenses, but in essence, he flew for free. Everything about the share was easy, (Insurance policy change, agreements, airplane management), except for finding the other pilots. This became the birth of SMA - a site that connects like-minded pilots interested in sharing an aircraft, for profit, for fun, or to expand their flying.
JEFF BERLIN, Director of Marketing, Editor, Photographer
Jeff is an instrument rated pilot and flies both the Cirrus SR-22 and TBM-850 turboprop. He is currently the editor of PiloMag, on newsstands nationwide, and has been active in the aviation world for over 10 years. He was also editor of Plane & Pilot and Pilot Journal, and has contributed to other magazines including Flying, AOPA Pilot, Private Pilot, Private Air, and EAA Sport Aviation. He is also an internationally published photographer of celebrity portraits, beauty and fashion. He lives in Los Angeles.
RANJAN CHARI, Chief Technology Officer, MS Flight Sim PIlot
A tech aficionado with an entrepreneurial streak, Ranjan brings over 10 years of dedicated information technology and interface design experience gained in consulting, direct sales and product development roles. Ranjan has conceptualized and implemented diverse technology and design solutions for leading advertising, pharmaceutical and finance companies, government agencies and non-profits. He is responsible for managing the execution of all design, software and internet related engagements for the company. Ranjan is a Project Management Institute Certified Project Management Professional (P.M.P.).
Ranjan holds an M.S. in Internet Engineering from Marlboro College and an M.B.A from the University of South Australia.
SEAN NOBLE, Web Developer, Programmer, Tech Support
Sean has over ten years of experience with variety of advanced programming languages and frameworks including .NET, C++, PHP, MySQL, MSSQL, Javascript, LAMP, WAMP and others. Additionally, he is extremely familiar with a variety of leading-edge internet technologies, and has specific expertise in several key areas including social networking, search engine optimization and online video. Prior to joining the team, he served as a technical and programming consultant for several other web companies, working for numerous start ups as well as several well known companies.
Sean has taken extensive coursework at Brookdale Community College as well as the Delaware Institute of Technology and is always working to learn more about the latest developments in his field of interest.
ADAM R. SANDERS, General Counsel
Through SMA, Adam R. Sanders is able to combine his experience as an attorney with his passion for working on creative projects with entrepreneurial people from different industries. Adam has his own full service law firm that offers legal services, advice and representation in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, corporate structuring, governance and transactions, entertainment, general business and contracts. Prior to law school, Adam worked at SNL Studios, the feature film production and development division of Saturday Night Live, Independent Pictures, and the William Morris Agency.
Adam has a BA in Economics from University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Georgetown University. He is licensed to practice in NY and DC, and before the U.S. District Courts, S.D.N.Y. and E.D.N.Y.
TOBY ROSSER, Creative Director
Toby has over 10 years work experience with on line and traditional marketing initiatives for clients such as Sony Corp of America, Discovery Communications, Pepsico, and Priceline.com. With work experience in interactive firms, ad agencies and marketing firms, Toby has gained extensive knowledge of branding through user experience and effective interface design. A background in Graphic Design and the Fine Arts has added to Mr. Rosser’s aesthetic approach to developing interactive products. He has lead design and architecture teams on corporate, real estate and entertainment initiatives.

JILL SLOANE, Event Coordinator
Jill came to Manhattan aspiring to be a Soap Star. After multiple appearances on popular shows, she realized this was not for her. In 1999, after receiving her sales agent license and calling her now director 40 times to get an interview, she was hired by Halstead Property. Always setting goals for herself, she called the president of Halstead, introduced herself and told her she would soon be their top agent. A few years later Jill Attained that goal and has consistently been one of Halstead's top agents, out of 800+ agents, since 1999! Jill works on our Real Estate related ventures and has been an early stage founder of multiple companies.
